Health workers are exposed to an increasing number of occupational hazards, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic.
The World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) published a new guide on developing and implementing stronger occupational health and safety programmes for health workers.
The guide provides an overview of the necessary elements of occupational safety and health (OSH) programmes at national, subnational, and facility levels. It also describes how to develop and implement OSH programmes with representatives of employers’ and workers’ organizations and other relevant stakeholders.
